Varsity volleyball keeps Jaguars on leash

Athletes must always step up their game on the court, even against the weakest of teams.

The Lowell Cardinals wiped out the June Jordan Jaguars on Wednesday Oct.13 in three dominating sets: 25-2, 25-8, 25-12.

Due to the enormous deficits, players were switched around to play in different positions. “Although I normally play in the backrow, because we were winning, our coach let me play in the front row as an outside hitter,” junior defensive specialist Isabela Haeger said.

Though the Cardinals sealed the victory, head coach Danielle Morales said she thought that the team stayed focused the whole time excluding the third set, when the Jaguars gained the most points. During that set, the team made careless errors, such as capitalizing on free balls.

Come support the Cardinals at 5:10 p.m. today at Mission High School as they take on the Bears.
