The girls’ varsity basketball team trampled the Wallenberg Bulldogs 52-28 in their last regular season game on Tuesday, on their way to the playoffs against Mission today.
The Cardinals started out shaky in the first quarter, at one point trailing behind 7-6. However, they regrouped in the second quarter and dominated the rest of the game. In the third quarter, the Cardinals’ aggressive defense in the key forced the Bulldogs to attempt long shots. The Bulldogs scored all their points in the third quarter on three-pointers and only scored four points in the fourth.
Sophomore guard Katarina Lum came off the bench to lead the Cardinals in scoring with 10 points.
Come cheer on the Cardinals at 4 p.m. today in the Neff Gymnasium against the Mission Bears in their first playoff game.
