The girls' varsity soccer team has started its preseason impressively, winning its first two games and tying the third. The girls have already scored 15 goals in three games, and have only conceded two so far.

The Cardinals winning streak came to an end today, Feb. 18, with a 1-1 draw against International High School.  The Jaguars had a lead going into the half but the Cardinals persisted and struck an equalizer deep in the second half.

The girls faced off against intimidating Tamalpais High School on Tuesday, Feb. 15.  They pulled off a striking 4-1 victory, despite going into the match as the perceived underdogs.  The game was close with both teams fighting for the win.  At halftime it looked like the game might be heading for a 1-1 tie, but the Cardinals clicked into action in the second half and scored three consecutive goals to win the game.

On Friday, Feb. 11 the team kicked off its preseason against The Bay School with a resounding 10-0 win. The Cardinals played consistently throughout the match, with the defense providing a strong base for the rest of the team to build off of. The game was notable for the talented new faces that appeared on the field since the team added 11 new freshmen to the roster.

Come support the girls at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 at Lowell as they go toe to toe against Lick Wilmerding.
