Undefeated JV girls keep winning streak alive

The girls JV basketball team dominated the Lincoln Mustangs once again with a score of 52-9 last Wednesday.

The girls remain undefeated in the season and are working on communicative skills to keep up the win streak. “We tried running our plays and working on defense,” freshman Mandy Che said.

The team shut down the Balboa defense and pull off the win with a 46-22 victory last Monday. “We got off to a slow start, but we picked it up in the end,” Che said. The Balboa team was able to prevent the girls from connecting on their layups. “We were working on finishing a lot of our layups,” freshman Kelly Eshima said.

The girls soared high above the Washington Eagles on Friday in the annual Battle of the Birds with a score of 30-24. The Washington team put up a strong challenge with their defense. “Even though we were doing badly, we pushed through for the victory,” freshman Kelly Wong said. The Cardinals worked hard on boxing out the opposition. “When we close out, we try and force the baseline instead of towards the middle,” freshman GG Gunther said.

Come support the team today against the Balboa Buccaneers after school here at Lowell.
