On Tuesday the JV Lady Cardinals extended their eight-game winning streak with a 46-19 victory over the Wallenberg Bulldogs.
The Cardinals kept their guard up and were able to swish their way to victory. Their defense once again shut down the Bulldogs. “We tried to work on spacing on the court,” freshman Mandy Che said.
On Monday the Cardinals tamed the Saint Ignatius Wildcats with a score of 49-18. The Cardinals pushed themselves to win by keeping their defense up. “We stepped our game up in the second half of the game,” freshman Kelly Wong said. The Cardinals are working on passing the ball better and being able to make quicker decisions. “We are working on being supportive on and off he court,” Wong said.
The team took a ride on the O’Connell Boilermakers with back-to-back victories with a 51-24 score last Thursday and a 61-25 score on Friday. The Cardinals defense once again locked down on the opposition. The girls are currently working on executing quick plays along with better communication. “We got off to a good start, but we could always improve on our passing and other skills,” freshman Triana Anderson said.
Go cheer on the Cardinals at 3:30 p.m. today at the Kezar Pavilion against the Washington Eagles in the annual Battle of the Birds.
