The JV Lady Cardinals stared down at the Lincoln Mustangs with a 45-17 victory on Monday.
The team has been working on improving their defensive communications in order to keep up their winning streak. “We are also working on making quick decisions and being more patient,” freshman Mandy Che said.
With a 39-24 win, the Cardinals were able to escape the clutches of the Santa Rosa High School Panthers and pull off a victory. The Panthers put up a good challenge against the Cardinals in last Saturday’s game. However, the Cardinals are still undefeated in their three season games. “They were one of the better teams we played,” freshman GG Gunther said. “We also got off to a really good start during that game.”
With their sharp talons, the Cardinals scratched the eyes out of the Galileo Lions last Thursday with an assertive 60-24 victory. In their second game of the season, the Cardinals again made a statement. In order to keep up their impressive win streak, they plan on improving their defensive communication in the future. “We had a lot of fast breaks and scored a lot of points that way,” freshman Kelly Eshima said.
The JV Lady Cardinals soared their way to victory in their first season game the day before with a 44-5 versus the Wallenburg Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Cardinals defense shut down the Bulldogs and kept a strong lead going throughout the game. “One of our goals is to keep communicating on defense and as a team in general,” freshman Kelly Eshima said. The Wallenburg offense was down and there were many turnovers, which clinched the win for the Cardinals.
Come cheer on the Cardinals today after school, here at Lowell, at 4:00 against the O’Connell Boilermakers.
