Undefeated cross-country sprints towards AAA championship
By Michelle Wan
Nov. 12, 2010

On Tuesday, the cross country team extended its season record to 4-0 with a win over the Balboa Buccaneers and O’Connell Boilermakers.

The varsity boys’ team took the first six places, but the varsity girls allowed Balboa senior Isabella Bowden to take first place. The frosh-soph boys did not have their own race due to a lack of runners. In the varsity boys’ race, first place runner junior William Chen ran a 2010 AAA season best time with 17:30, more than a minute ahead of second place senior co-captain Corey Worthington, who finished in 18:31.

In the varsity girls’ race, top Cardinal runner sophomore Emma-Keenan Grice finished in second place, besting fellow sophomore Susan Li. They finished in times of 22:25 and 22:28, respectively.

Come cheer on the Cardinals at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at Golden Gate Park’s Polo Fields as they race toward the AAA championship title.
