Cardinals bask in San Diego sun

The top 12 players on the boys' tennis team flew down to San Diego last month, where they spent half a day together at Loyola Beach and UC-San Diego. “It was good for them to get a chance to get to know each other the way a collegiate team does,” coach Jimmy Rosenheim said.

Originally, the Cardinals were scheduled to participate in the San Diego Tourney in San Diego. The venue of the tournament was actually in Orange County rather than San Diego, so the juiced Cardinals had to cut their stay in San Diego short and focus on the tournament in Orange County. On March 19, the boys lost the tournament 0-8, 1-7, 0-8, but despite those standings, the team enjoyed sharing the travel experience, with some visiting Southern California for the first time.

The strategy for the team now is to train more and to learn to play more aggressively and consistently.

Come see the Cardinals at 3:30 p.m. on March 22 in Golden Gate Park while they play against Galileo.
