JV boys continue to step around competition

Last Friday the boys’ JV Basketball team beat the June Jordan Jaguars, 53-20.

That victory followed a loss to the Lincoln Mustangs, 33-30 on Wednesday and a victory over the Balboa Buccaneers 47-43 two days earlier.

The previous Friday, the Cardinals went to Kezar and crushed the Washington Eagles 43-31 at Battle of the Birds.

The Cardinals worked hard to keep the Eagles at bay. “We executed a strong team defense throughout the game,” sophomore forward Brandon Szeto said.

Unfortunately, the Cardinals weren’t always able to keep the Eagles from scoring. “We need to work on fouling less,” Szeto said. “We had five fouls in the first quarter, letting Washington score points through free throws.”

Come support the Cardinals at 4 p.m. today at Thurgood Marshall high school against the Marshall Phoenix.
