Athlete of the Month: Adrienne Pearce
By Jeffrey Wong
Apr. 29, 2011

Tearing and slashing her way across the field, junior center midfielder Adrienne “Deedee” Pearce knocks down every opponent in her way so she can kick an assist to a fellow teammate — the winning point.
Pearce’s love for soccer began when she was five years old, when she started playing club soccer. When she was 11 years old, she played with highly ranked club teams like the Burlingame Phoenixes, the 23rd ranked club team in Northern California. Her competence on the field has continued in high school, where Pearce has been a starter and standout since her freshman year. In recognition of her talents, she has been awarded an honorary position in the Academic Athletic Association All-League First Team for the past two seasons.
Her teammates find her athleticism and tremendous talent a great asset to the team.
According to coach Marcos Estebez, Pearce’s mindset and fine-tuned skill sets her apart. “Deedee has an uncanny knack for dispossessing players of the ball and has a very calm game demeanor which helps settle those around her,” Estebez said.
Pearce’s
soccer aspirations are shining brightly as she looks to play beyond Feibusch field. “Playing on a Division III college and even a college club team would be a lot of fun,” Pearce said.
