Standing at 5’ 8” and sporting jersey number 29, the forward swerves and moves like a blur past his opponent and toward the opposition’s goal with ease, grace and speed.  Within a blink of an eye, he scores his eighth goal in his sixth game of his sophomore soccer career.  Who is this incredible player, you ask?  He’s the one, the only: Jesus Sanchez.

What makes Sanchez such a great player?  Besides the number of goals he has contributed to the Lowell boy’s soccer team, he is also a great team player.  “Jesus is fast, has a good touch and amazing shot with the ball, plays smart, and works well with everyone on the team,” fellow sophomore teammate and left midfielder Cameron BaSaing said.

Although dedicated to soccer just as much as the other players on the team, Sanchez singles himself out with “his ball-handling skills,” according to head coach Ernest Feibusch.

To catch Sanchez run another great play or score another goal, watch the Cardinals compete at 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 20 at Burton against the Pumas.
