While Lowell students are among the most hardworking students in San Francisco, we are also among the most stressed. With tests perpetually on the horizon and a homework load that never seems to lighten, we deserve sympathy and support. Even one night free from homework would relieve student anxiety.

In the Nov. 8 consolidated municipal election, the people of San Francisco rejected Proposition H by a mere 120 votes. Those 120 votes saved the City from creating a policy that would have been detrimental to our public schools.

Protesters with the Occupy Wall Street movement have been camping out in the financial district of New York City for over a month, filling Zuccotti Park with signs and tents, demanding a change in regime in our so-called “free-market economy.” Claiming to represent 99 percent of Americans, they are intent on stopping corporations from controlling the country.
