Car runs over fire hydrant (11/03)

Someone damaged a fire hydrant last Saturday on school property.

The district will pay for its replacement because the hydrant is on school grounds, according to assistant principal Peter Van Court.

A car ran over the fire hydrant, but school officials cannot identify the driver. There are so many people here on weekends, Van Court said.

Were looking into the possibility of hiring security to limit access.
