Players in some athletic programs in the AAA (let's keep this anonymous) like to talk and talk and talk. But Lowell, a veritable goody-two-shoes, is above the rabble's babble.
"We don't react," junior running back Kevin Delfin said. "We just take it all in and play a little harder. It's fun to shut them up because when we beat them, they can't say anything."
But, as every weekend warrior knows, trash talk can enliven any competitive enterprise worth its salt. Allow us to break it down for you.

After suffering a frustrating 61-47 preseason loss to the San Mateo Bearcats on Dec. 9, the varsity boys' basketball players are keeping their heads up for the start of the regular season.
Lowell looked to be on top of things for most of the first quarter against the Bearcats although the period ended with the Cardinals slightly behind, 18-16. Senior guard Aaron Koga made many well-placed shots to help the team stay in the game.

Eyeing the ball in her opponent's hand like a fierce feline, junior guard Stacey Lee went in for the steal during the first quarter of the Dec. 13 game against the Fremont Tigers. Swiping the ball from a Fremont player, Lee saw her teammate, senior forward Melissa Cheung, looking across the court with the same intense expression. Lee launched the ball down the court to a wide-open Cheung, who scored with ease to extend Lowell's lead.

As the ball descended from the heavens, senior running back Guillaume Mok contorted his body to reach back and snag senior quarterback Brian Moore's 40-yard heave, landing on the one-yard line. The crowd on Lowell's side of Kezar Stadium arose like quicksilver from a stupor induced by countless Cardinal errors, while Washington fans saw an imminent victory snatched away from their team.
Two plays later and with precious few seconds remaining, Mok plunged across the goal line to capture the city title for the Cardinals, 16-12, on Thanksgiving Day.

Baseball by the Bay is experiencing a renaissance of epic proportions. The past year, the sport has seen the rise and continued dominance of the Bay Area’s crown jewels. Reminiscent of the magical Earthquake series of 1989, the region is now at the top of the baseball world because of its beloved San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics.
“The Bay Area couldn’t have dreamed of a better year in sports,” sophomore Charlie Cutler said. “It was almost unreal to have two Bay Area teams in the playoffs at the same time.”
