Dragonboat finds its identity (3/20)

     With each stroke of the paddle, members of the Dragonboat team push themselves to far limits, leaning and rotating into the pulling of their paddles to reach the finish line faster than the other teams. Tiring out on fellow team members is not allowed.

“Winning isn't everything, but the will to win is everything,” Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi said. These words could not be more fitting for the varsity girls’ basketball team in the championship game against Lincoln on March 6. Although their season came to a crashing halt with a devastating loss to the Mustangs, the team is still first when it comes to tenacity and resilience.

Lil Wayne’s lyrics, “Take them shoes off ya mouth, stop running ya mouth” does not apply to the track team. Their words were more along the lines of “I’ll crush any team that gets in our way of glory and spit on their soul,” as assistant sprint coach Michael Speech exclaimed.

Boys volleyball tries to spike to perfection (3/09)

     In the closest game the boys have played this year, the Cardinals defeated the Lincoln Mustangs on March 11 to seal their first AAA win.
     It was the team’s first time this year playing a fifth set.
