He maintains this humility despite receiving a prestigious award for the thousands of volunteer hours he has logged: the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Art students create an 'unnatural history' project

    An array of white, skeletal creatures rests silently on a black backdrop in the back of the Book-to-Book store.
    This is the Museum of Unnatural History, a makeshift art gallery showcasing ceramic students’ imaginative creations. Taught by Maria Rode, these students embarked on a journey to preserve childhood memories by “fossilizing” them in clay last November.
 
District prepares for major budget cuts (02/08)

    Schools throughout the state may have to scale down staff and services after governor Arnold Schwarzenegger proposed a $4.8 billion educational budget cut as a part of a series of cuts aimed at bringing the state out of a projected $14.5 billion deficit.
 
TV Lowell brings new elements to daily broadcasts (2/08)

    TV Lowell members are currently working on their next show after broadcasting their first live show of the school year on Jan. 16.
    Broadcast by Radio Lowell announcers, TV Lowell will draw attention to school activities using video clips, according to English and drama teacher Sam Williams, the TV and Radio Lowell sponsor.  “The purpose is to raise awareness about sporting events and school opportunities,” he said.
