The court is his second home. The ball is his best friend. The players are his family. The hoop is what he aims for. Who is this devoted player? He is none other than senior center Robbie Pollard, of course.

On Dec. 10, in the Half Moon Bay game at Lowell High, Pollard scored 13 points and made seven blocks. The week before, when Lowell destroyed Terra Nova High 41-24 on Dec. 3 in the Blue and Gold Tournament at Jefferson High, Pollard contributed 11 points as the lead scorer. The star center not only contributed his amazing talents to the team’s wins and efforts, but also maintained his status as a real teammate on and off the court. “He makes a good combination of skill and hard work,” senior guard Holden Taylor said. Boys’ varsity basketball coach Robert Ray agrees with Taylor. “Robbie is a truly dedicated team captain whom the players look up to for leadership,” Ray said.
