In last Friday May 7’s championship game, the boys’ varsity volleyball team beat the Lincoln Mustangs, winning the AAA/CIF-San Francisco Section title, 3-2.
You’re sitting in a movie theater, clutching your popcorn and soda as a slimy, dripping claw reaches out of the screen. Your eyes widen behind your cardboard glasses. Trapped in your seat, nausea sweeps over you as the reptilian fin inches closer to your neck. Sound like a blast from the past? The movie? Creature from the Black Lagoon. The year? 1954.
A different coach, different strategy and new line-up proved to be overwhelming for the Cardinals as the varsity boys’ soccer team lost 1-3 to San Rafael High on Tuesday.
Bleachers filled with people from different schools, excited players, busy sport managers, and nervous coaches always make a great and highly anticipated volleyball game.
